Blackout shades are a really good idea
I always find that in the height of summer the sun can be so bright that it can make it very unpleasant to sit in the room, especially next to my patio which receives a lot of sunlight during the middle of the day. One day I was talking to a friend and she gave me the advice that what I should do was look into the possibility of fitting some Blackout Shades on the patio windows, because this would really enable me to keep the sunlight out and make the room much cooler, even when the sun was high in the sky. I am really glad I took her advice because that room is now nice and cool even during the middle of the day.
