In ancient times the curtains were used to solve their purpose only that is to avoid sunlight from entering through the room. Nowadays the curtains are used to beautify the rooms. They have become a more functional and most sophisticated material which does not only hang but offer great style to your rooms and houses. The choice of curtain rod is made according to the curtain fabric used to make the curtain, heavier is the curtain stronger the rod should be. When it comes to window treatments, I like to keep the designs simple and elegant. I mostly use side panels which add just enough texture and fabric to soften a window. I also like roman shades. I’m not a fan of swags or valances or anything that obstructs the view beyond the window. Window treatments should enhance a window, not overpower or hide it. I was walking the dog around the neighborhood this morning, and I noticed a house with large picture windows that looked quite handsome, except for one thing: the homeowners had clearly picked some off-the-shelf curtains, that really didn’t work with the unique shape of the window. Even from the sidewalk this was apparent, and detracted a bit from the curb appeal of the home. They really should have had something custom made that would accent the picture windows.
