How to Choose Your Window Blinds

Decorating or re-decorating a house can be a challenge and an adventure. If you like shopping, you are a creative person, full of idea, then decorating a room is a perfect job for you. One of the accessories that most rooms need are the cellular window blinds, which have two roles: the first one is to protect us from our neighbors’ view and the second one is to make the room more intimate, to give some elegance to the windows.  There are so many types of window blinds, that it is very hard to choose what exactly would you like to have. There are wooden window blinds, cellular window blinds, textile blinds, aluminum blinds, PVC blinds, each of them with its particularities. You can have narrow or wide slats, in a huge variety of colors, to match your other room decorations or the walls color.  If you don’t have too much time, you can do your research for shades, blids and accessories, directly on the internet, as there are many sites which offer virtual room decoration, with 3d effects, in order to help you figure out your style.

PVC Vertical Blinds

If you’re living in a compact space and you want your home to appear larger and airier, there are many architectural and design alternatives you could do. One is to increase your vertical space by raising the ceiling and you could complement it with tall windows and glass doors. This innovative design gives an illusion of space, and could easily solve your spatial problem. This solution, however, could create another problem for you – loss of privacy.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) vertical blinds could be the perfect repartee to this stumper. PVC vertical blinds are the most popular choice for glass windows and doors. Plus, they are also durable and easy-to-clean and could suit any interior décor. They are also cheap, but that does not mean they are cheap-looking. These window treatment products could transform your windows and your whole home into an elegant space.

Vertical Blinds, Fabric Or PVC?

Filed under: PVC blinds, blinds, vertical blinds, vinyl blinds — Tags: , , , — admin @ 11:29 am

There are three main reasons for using vertical blinds. The first purpose is to serve as a lovely part of the decoration of your home. Vertical blinds can add an illuminated area of interest to a large portion of any room. The second is making the inside of your home more private and less visible to people outdoors. Lastly, blinds are employed to block sunlight from passing through a window and heating the room.

Vertical blinds help insulate a room from the excess heat caused by sunlight, thereby reducing the expense of providing additional air conditioning or ventilation. Although the vinyl blinds industry doesn’t want you to know it, blinds produced from polyester woven fabric are far superior to PVC-based vertical blinds insofar as blocking sunlight and heat coming into the room. Vertical blinds made of PVC do not block a significant amount of heat from entering the room. While they do provide some privacy, and reduce the amount of light entering through the window, PVC blinds louvers are not effective enough at keeping the heat out of a room to provide much in the way of energy savings. You will still find yourself having to air condition, or otherwise cool the room. Besides the heat which enters the room, there is also a less often considered, yet still significant, amount of ultraviolet or UV light that enters as well, which can be harmful in excess amounts.
