There are many different colours of Venetian blinds available to choose from. The colours available for Venetian blinds include metallic hues which give blinds a modern appearance to any room. The ever popular white PVC Venetian blinds compliment bathroom decors and provide a clean, pristine effect which is durable and resistant to steamy atmospheres. When the slats of the blinds are angled they provide complete privacy and yet allow plenty of light to enter the room. Ready made Venetian blinds are manufactured so that they can be trimmed to fit both the width, by a small amount and the length by any amount to provide a perfect fit to your windows. A metallic rust coloured Venetian blind which has contrasting top and bottom rails, cord pull and a clear acrylic twist control presents a modern, contemporary feel, which is stylish when used in a bedroom or study.

The first of all blinds, Venetian blinds have been around since the 1770’s. Fortunately for us, they are now available in more colors than the traditional gray or white. Nowadays you can find Venetian blinds in a variety of colors.
Venetian blinds are made up of slats, stretching horizontally across the window. Strings, known as ladders, run through each slat. Slats usually have the selected color on one side and a neutral color on the reverse sideboth sides. The strings and lift cords are usually co.
If you want to allow some light into the room, or be able to look outside, you can keep the blinds lowered and adjust the slats. When the slats are in the flat position, you will have total privacy.
It is straightforward to install Venetian blinds and any handy person should be able to do the job. It is however necessary to make sure your Venetian blinds are installed properly. If not, you might end up with blinds that become tangled and crooked.

Wood Venetian Blinds: The best way to keep wooden venetian blinds clean is to dust them on a regular basis. As the surface of the slats are smooth it’s a fairly easy job to wipe them down with a cloth or brush off the dust using a clean soft duster. Another good method is to use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
Another handy tip is to put a pair of cotton gloves or even an old pair of socks onto your hands and wipe the slats between your fingers. You can also use a small paintbrush to dust the slats.
Aluminium Venetian Blinds: As with wooden venetian blinds it is best to dust this type of blind on a regular basis to avoid a large build up of dust. Again brush the dust off using a clean soft duster or a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
Unlike the wooden blinds you can use water and some kind of detergent on aluminium venetian blinds. The best way to do this is to tilt the blinds so that the slats are flat. Then using a cloth or sponge with some water and some washing up liquid, wipe them over. Avoid being too aggressive and accidentally damaging the slats by bending them.

The long horizontal slats are held one above the other by the rungs of window coverings shaped like a ladder. The lower ends of the legs of the window treatments are secured to the long rail under the slats. Their upper ends are attached to the drive rod in the housing, the elongated box above the slats. As the drive rod rotates, one leg of each ladder cord moves up while the other moves down, causing the angle of the slats to change. In one design, this rotation is achieved by pushing up or pulling down on a long handle called a tilt wand connected to the drive rod by a lever. Lift cords along the mini blinds are also attached to the rail. They pass through holes in the slats and into the housing above, where they go over pulleys, combine and exit through the cord lock. For safety it’s important that the lock always work. A downward pull on the main lift cord raises the slats by the cords pulling up the rail below the slats. The cord lock holds the main lift cord to keep the slats up until the cord is pulled to release the lock. The safety lock made the cord lock easier to use.

A mini buy blinds is a type of non-vertical window mini blinds made of long, narrow slats held together by string and located inside the window. Its slats are not as wide as venetian window blinds slats.2 A mini custom blinds has more slats than a regular Venetian select blinds because its slats are narrow. The slats of mini blinds to gos are less than half the width of regular Venetian budget blinds. The slats are opened and closed by rotating a rod or by directly pulling a string. They are raised and lowered by pulling other strings.
Cheap blinds made of narrow, light-weight horizontal wood slats, adjustable to admit or exclude light, were developed in 1794, and called Venetian discount blindss. The cellular shades were often used instead of window curtains or shutters. In the 1840s, these faux wood blindss were held together by flat strips of cloth instead of by cords perhaps to shade the lift holes and like today they came in various colors.4 In 1966, a new pulley system was invented which afforded great improvement in the control mechanism. 5 Over time, narrower slats became more common, as they were easier to clean and they reduced glare at certain settings and their appearance was pleasing to many. In 1946 Henry Sonnenberg and Joe Hunter developed technology and equipment for the production of lightweight aluminum slats (50 mm) for Venetian buy blinds, and by 1979, 25 mm slats were popular.
