Sometimes we look at window treatments and we hardly think about the mechanism to operate the treatment. We are all very familiar with the cording system and at times it does get very frustrating dealing with them. You have those dangling cords that you have to tie to cleats to keep them away from children and pets. What about lifting the shades? specially the heavy ones. IF you do that daily it can get old very quickly.
One of the trends going forward and one that I personally will be recommending to my clients is the use of cordless shades. They are easy to operate and the best part is that with the elimination of cords, you also get a very safe window treatment for children and pets. Like everything there are limitations, but most windows should be able to accommodate this. Check out B&W Horizon’s cordless system video that shows the ease of operation. Cordless roman shades are here to stay and you will be seeing them more and more and I will not be surprise if this becomes the standards instead of an option that it is now. Time will tell.
The great thing is that cordless systems are not only limited to shades, but you can also get wood blinds and honeycombs available as cordless.
No Matter your style, there is a window treatment for that!

If you are looking for excellent bedding designs, look no further. I am now offering bedding, pillows, drapery panels, shams, upholster headboards, and more that is spectacular in appearance all from Eastern Accents. I actually bought some for my house. My daughter got the Sakura line, an Asian inspired design. I also went and visited the Eastern Accents shop in Chicago the last time I was there. Awesome. Amazing. Marvelous. I had to say to myself, What took me so long to get their line?
You can visit their website www.easternaccents.com to view their line. I am getting some of the fabrics to upholster a chair and an ottoman for my daughter’s room. You can see the design I did for her room all based on this bedding, and undoubtedly, she loves it. I think it is a good transitional design from a little girl to a tween, and it will definitely work when she becomes a young adult.

Creating a place where your kids really want to study may seem an improbable task, but if they aren’t comfortable where they do their schoolwork, it will show, they are not using the area or their grades are falling. At the very least, it should be a place where they feel at ease, one that has their own tastes and interests incorporated. It’s important they get enough light, both natural from the windows and from other light sources. As they grow and mature, their personal space becomes a much more important part of the place they call home and can be a spot where they feel the safety and comfort you always try to create for your whole family. Let’s freshen your home with the kids’ rooms in mind. I have a terrific array of ideas and products in every price range to make this happen and will be happy to work within your budget to help you make their rooms or your family’s rooms new again with window fashions and color. Window treatments are not only for formal rooms, but they do wonders in kids room. Let them show their personalities, create their space. Kids love it, they feel respected, appreciated, and loved. If you are in the Fort Lauderdale area, call me and let’s get started! Check out great designs on our site http://www.excitingwindows.com/content/great_window_ideas/

Blue is for boys… but it may not be for young men! Pink is wonderful, but at some point, girls grow out of that, too. When you make a décor change with window fashions, you aren’t limited by any one color, style or texture, and you don’t even have to change anything else in the room to make a major style shift. If Junior’s room is still blue, and his window treatments have seen better days, why not look to what’s happening in bold geometric prints? How about crisp cellular or louvered shades or blinds in a contrasting color or texture to bring “POP” to his environment? Thinking pink, there are loads of hot, contemporary styles and colors (like bright yellow, orange and even aqua or brown) that can update a girl’s pink room, and bring her private hangout into today by making it “her own” current style, where she’ll feel great and can “be herself”! Or better yet, lets use a custom fabric design for them, using their own drawings and designs.
