Venetian blinds or horizontal blinds as they are also known can bring warm to the room depending on what color and style you are using and how you combine it with the rest of the room. Thank You. The other manufacturers are ADO, Graber, Lafayette, Kirsch/Levelor, Comfortex to name a few. They usually sell the track with a selection of fabrics they have available. For the complete custom look using any fabric you are better off working with a window specialist since they can the have it customize for you. Apart from using my workroom I have use ADO. I like the weight they used at the bottom and the finish of whole panel. As simple as it might sound, if the panel is not contructed right, it will not hand properly. Also, remember that not all fabrics will be suitable for this. I hope this help andif you need more information do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks so much for all this great information! I have a question about the panel track (sliding panel) choices above. You mention the name of the first one Hunter Douglas, but not the second, which attaches with Velcro. I bought a mid-century built house 3 years ago which was already rigged up with these velcro-attached panel blinds and have been searching to find where I could buy more for a few other rooms. I understand the Hunter Douglas works better, but for me the selling point is being able to choose which ever fabric I want and also being able to remove them and clean them if need be. Could you tell me the name of the manufacturer?
