6th Annual Exciting Windows! Conference
I just spent five days in Baltimore, MD with the most experienced and talented Window Fashion Professionals learning and sharing information on what’s new and exciting for 2010!
Grace McNamara has owned and published Window Fashions magazine, now VISION since 1986 and certainly had a lot to offer. Being an educator, corporate executive, entrepreneur and global leader, Len Casey had many interesting ideas to share. As a worldwide leader, he directed the Teflon/Silverstone and Corian businesses. He went on earn the International Corporate Marketing Excellence Award for each business, the only executive to receive the award on two occasions.
Our Buying Network was also there showing every new product in hard and soft window coverings introduced in 2010. These included Hunter Douglas, B&W Window Fashions, Carole Fabrics, Norman Shutters, Lafayette Interior Fashions, Levolor/Kirsh, Robert Allen, Oxford House Brimar, Inc and EcoSmart. Those products sure fueled my passion!
Of course, our Chairman, Steve Bursten, who wrote the book, “Bootstrap Entrepreneur”, over 100 home fashion articles, developed multiple industry training courses and the first franchised decorating business in America, guiding 1000 franchise owners to success, couldn’t stop there! When he realized the possibilities of the Internet for the window fashions industry he developed an innovative database, email, and marketing applications. In 1984, with Steve Wishnow, Exciting Windows! was born.
Steve Wishnow, a seasoned marketing and advertising executive, for Hecht’s, a $2.7 billion dollar department store with an annual budget of $140 million, is the perfect partner to compliment Steve’s vision.
The always awesome, Kathy Cragg, vice-president, also shared so much of her personal knowledge of her many years in the fashion design industry.
There were so many others with information and fabulous ideas, I cannot even begin to mention and thank them all.
As I return to Spokane, I will be implementing all my knowledge to serve my clients with top quality products and creative custom ideas for new window fashion design; along with the newest color trends and products which are now available to bring beauty, comfort and energy efficiency to their homes. I look so forward to help improve their quality of life for many years.

and so on. All this is good for the economy, and just by making your home look and feel more beautiful! Imagine!
