Through my Exciting Windows! by Kriss Hook Business, I consider cordless safety to be similar to the shift when consumers began expecting such standard features as seat belts and airbags from the auto industry. Our industry has lagged behind most others in our ability to provide safe products to consumers without cost increases. I have a NEW fabulous Roman Shade product in beautiful designer fabrics with Cordless Controls that encourages innovation in our industry to create a safer generation of window shades and to protect children and pets in your home. I am offering this control option FREE until through March, 2012!

Transitional is:
- Blends the best of traditional and contemporary design
- Softens the sharper edges of contemporary decor; mixes in a few turned legs or a plaid
- Furniture profiles are simple but sophisticated with gentle curves
- Using fabrics like chenille, corduroy, ultrasuede or microsuede, leather and even smooth cottons
- Usually transitional decor is marked by a restrained palette enhanced by pattern and texture
- Use of woods like maple, birch, mahogany in natural finishes; liberal use of glass and metals
- Like contemporary decor, transitional frequently uses minimal accessories
This Transitional room designed by Velvet Hammerschmidt, showcases both traditional and contemporary elements. Simple dining chair profiles paired with a rich wood table and light wood floors speak to contemporary design but then the chandelier, mirror and chair in the entry hall have much more traditional leanings. Even looking into the living room I see a traditional accent chair but modern glass and metal stacking side tables.

New Bohemia is a pastoral trend that blends bucolic elements with second-hand objects for an authentic look that updates the vintage aesthetic for a contemporary age. The composition of floral inspiration, mix of modern and craft with a feminine touch transforms the place in an original but authentic home.

The Family of leather, stone and wood ~ INSTINCT fuses the ancient, mythological, raw, and the primitive with a highly technical modern-day aesthetic. Instinct belongs to a citizen of the world with grown-up tastes and could be simply described as a mix of ethnic and modern sophistication.

Ask your child what his or her favorite color is, and you’ll get a quick answer. Then ask what the SECOND favorite color is, and you’ve opened a gold-mine that will help you create the perfect look for your child’s room by using BOTH of those colors. This gives you the opportunity to add details in either color, in window treatments, trims, paint, accessories, custom pillows and bedspreads, floor coverings, lighting and furnishings. This will also keep you from getting bogged down in matching just one color, and lets the young ones have their say in how their personal spaces look and feel!

Violet contributes to mental equilibrium. In addition, it is associated with a sense of the artistic, music, intuition and spirituality. It promotes sensitivity and compassion.
In home decorating, violet is sometimes used to create theatrical environments that reflect the creative personality of the residents. Artists often like to have a toch of violet in their studios. Violet also lends itself to rooms that are earmarked for prayer and meditation.
