A regular vacuum or using a small soft paintbrush to dust them is recommended for wood blinds. Do not soak the wood blinds in water because they will become damaged and warped. In addition, a wet cloth is not advisable either. Using a dry cloth with a dusting product, made for cleaning wood furniture, will ensure your wood blinds are not damaged. Water and a bit of dish soap is the recommended way to clean aluminums and other metal blinds. To make the process easier, put the soapy water into a spray bottle and then you do not have to take them down. But, if you have not cleaned your blinds for many years you might want to consider removing them. A moistened towel can also be used to clean the dust and little dirt from these types of blinds. Make sure you go in the same direction of the slat to prevent to them from breaking or bending.
