Girls and Tools Go Together

Hello Sherman,
During the set building in Rochester littleshop2.jpgHigh School Auditorium, I had the privilege of coaching some young ladies in working with tools… after some initial coaching and fighting with the screw gun, the wood, and the screws, they proclaimed that they couldn’t do it. This photo came after a bit more encouragement and trying some more… thanks to all the kids who helped build the Little Shop of Horrors set the last few weeks.

We Love Client Feedback!

Of course we love it when folks are happy with their new drapery or valances, but we also love it when people take the time to tell us what they’re unhappy with so we can make it right.

We are now using a simple email survey system after your installation to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep you and your friends coming back for new window treatments, bedding, or the next great redecorating project.

Thank you to my clients who provided this feedback this month:

“You have wonderful ideas at any price point and the quality of the product is excellent!”
A & K, on the Lake in Springfield IL

“We really liked the personal attention given by Susan and her ability to work with us.”
T & Y, Centennial Park, Springfield IL

“Excellent quality and great-looking products. Service was very personable and helpful.”

Traveling Drapery

When you find a fabric you love, and have it sewn into beautiful, interlined custom draperies, you just can’t leave them behind if your house sells!

This year, a favorite customer had us over for a free in-home consultation, and we chose fabrics and hardware together for a 20-foot tall foyer bay window. We all know that life situations change, and when she had to move 1 1/2 hours away, I said that I would follow her there, so she chose to relocate WITH the drapery!

Fortunately, this pair of tied-back extra long draperies was able to be remade into side panels for three windows at her new home, complete with an underlayer of sheers, insulating cellular shades, and 2″ wooden rods with finials that matched her trim beautifully.

I am happy to share her words today, “The draperies I have ordered are of great quality, but the best part of the Exciting Windows experience is Susan Day – the designer. She is wonderful to work with.”

The feeling was completely mutual; this is the best job in the world!

Springfield Friend loves her new Draperies and Sheers

Happy Spring!
We’ve had some fun clients to work with lately, and it’s so nice to get feedback when they are happy. A friend was recently renovating the second floor of an adorable older home. Plaster walls were smoothed, wide trim repainted, great new wall colors selected, and wood floors refinished.

Her master bedroom needed room darkening drapery for sleep, layered over sheers for light-filtering privacy during the day. Pretty decorative hardware and finials topped off the treatment. In the end, the colors in the drapery fabric and the new wall color really “sang” together.

Thank you to this owner of new custom window treatments, who would recommend working with us because of … “The high quality of materials and work, and the attention that Susan Day gives to the taste and preferences of her clients.”
