Horizons B&W has introduced a new Twin Shade: a roller shade behind a woven wood shade. The woven wood shade can be operated independently of the roller shade when limited privacy is needed. The beauty of the woven wood is enhanced when sunlight filters through the fabric. The roller shade underneath can be fabricated in either a semi-opaque or blackout material, depending on the client’s needs. The amazing headrail system puts both shades on a 2 1/2 – 3″ headrail, so projection is minimal. Truly an amazing product that is the best of both worlds.

Arch windows can be some of the most challenging light control and insulation issues in window coverings. Do you cover it? Do you leave it naked?? Though the architectural detail of an arch window is nice, the dilemma is how to dress it. HunterDouglas has a few options, depending on the look and functionality you need. A “sunburst” shutter will control the light and give you some insulation, but will not open and close. Likewise, a Silhouette will filter the light with its sheer fabric and vanes, but the vanes are stationary in the open position. A Duette cellular shade can be made to be raised and lowered inside the arch. This gives you the option of opening and closing the shade, and the insulating feature of a cellular will help you cut down on your heating and air conditioning bills.
