Mixing Patterns

What is your pattern tolerance?  This means, can you mix florals, stripes, checks or plaids, and solids all in the same room?  Some people are uncomfortable with this and others can’t get enough.  That is why you need to understand YOUR pattern tolerance.  From a design standpoint, it is very possible, and even desirable, to mix patterns within a room.  If you have trouble doing it yourself, then call a professional to help.   We are window treatment consultants serving Mason and Maineville, OH area.

Relocating

My best friends recently moved to Minneapolis.  Even in the downward economy, people are still moving and have an emotional need to establish a new “home”.   It may seem odd to you, but it is true that decorating is all about emotion.  We have an inner need to feel safe and comfortable.  Decorating a new living space is one immediate way to bring some warmth and beauty to our surroundings.  Adding fabric at the windows, in the form of draperies or top treatments will enhance the living space and help in the quest of settling into a new home.

Adding Draperies to Blinds

The trend toward draperies continues.  I had a call from West Chester, OH today requesting draperies over his existing blinds for added insulation.  This not only adds to the energy efficiency, but enhances the decor of the room with color and texture.  Draperies are a win-win!

Draperies Increasing in Popularity

Filed under: Draperies, Energy Efficient, Maineville, Mason, blinds — windowaccents @ 7:56 am

There is a definite trend toward softening the look at the windows.  Even if blinds are used, fabric drapery side panels are often use to enhance the design and decor of the room.  These panels can be stationary or fully moveable, traversing the entire width of the window to give complete privacy, light control, and insulation.  Fully lined drapery panels offer fabulous insulation in a room.
