Woven Woods vs. Shutters

Filed under: Maineville, Mason, Shades, Shutters — Tags: , — windowaccents @ 3:47 pm

My client today was trying to decide between woven woods and shutters for his home office.  He was wanting to transition to a more formal office with rich, dark furniture.  His home is also set on a beautiful lot surrounded by trees in Maineville, OH.  His considerations would be to go with a more casual, natural “woodsy” feel with the woven woods, or a more formal, stately feel with the shutters.  Given the setting of the home and the formal office, there is no “right ” answer - just preference.

Arched Windows in Mason and Maineville, Ohio

Are you stumped over what to do with your arched windows.  So many houses in the neighborhoods of Mason and Maineville, Ohio have large palladium (arched) windows in their foyer, over the front door.  For most, the amount of sunlight coming through those windows is blinding.  Not only blinding, but also a source of too much of heat in the summer and too much cold in the winter.  It is hard for home owners to know where to begin in treating windows like that.  The good news is that there are many options!  You just need a good window treatment professional you can trust to come to your home and show you some solutions. You can treat the window with a blind, shade, shutter, or fabric treatment.  It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish.  Call me for a free consultation and let me wade through all the products to show you what would work best for you.

Hunter Douglas Duette Architella Shades

Filed under: Energy Efficient, Maineville, Mason, Shades, Window Treatments, blinds — windowaccents @ 3:49 pm

Let me introduce you to Hunter Douglas’ latest addition to their Duette Cellular Shade line.  The Duette Architella Collection has a patented honeycomb within a honeycomb.  Hunter invented the cellular shade and they continue to be great innovators.  Let’s talk about R-Value.  R-value measures a product’s ability to keep heat in and cold out.  The higher the R-value, the greater the insulation.  An R-value of 4.00 will prevent up to 75% heat loss through the window.  Duette Architella heneycomb shades, with R-values ranging from 5.48 - 7.73 offer tremendous energy efficiency benefits with distinctive fashion.  Call me to see a sample of these unique shades.
