Upholstered Headboard

Filed under: Cincinnati, Decorating, Maineville, Mason, Uncategorized — Tags: , , , , , , — windowaccents @ 7:29 am

I met with a returning customer last evening who wanted to add an upholstered headboard to her queen bed.  She wanted a fairly nuetral color because she likes to change her bedding frequently.  Headboards can be made in many styles.  After looking at many photos of style choices, she decided on one with a slight arch top and deep button tufting.  The fabric will be a solid, textured oatmeal color.  The beauty of this headboard will come from the tufting and she will be able to enjoy this for years to come.  We can provide upholsterd headboards or any reupholstery in the Mason, Maineville, and West Chester OH area

Mixing Patterns

What is your pattern tolerance?  This means, can you mix florals, stripes, checks or plaids, and solids all in the same room?  Some people are uncomfortable with this and others can’t get enough.  That is why you need to understand YOUR pattern tolerance.  From a design standpoint, it is very possible, and even desirable, to mix patterns within a room.  If you have trouble doing it yourself, then call a professional to help.   We are window treatment consultants serving Mason and Maineville, OH area.

Custom Bedding

Today I installed custom bedding for a favorite client.  King Size fitted bedspread and many decorative pillows gave this client just the look she was seeking.  Valances and tableskirts finished the look. She wanted that pampered, exquisite, elite feeling when she walked into her bedroom.  Nothing says that like custom bedding.

Psychology of Brown

Filed under: Maineville, Mason, Uncategorized — Tags: , — windowaccents @ 12:38 pm

Brown tastes good - we have a lot positive culinary associations with this wonderful color.  Anyone a chocolate freak?  Or maybe fried chicken? Or fresh bread from the oven?  Older generations sometimes thought of brown as boring, but younger generations see it as upscale, luxurious and formal.  Brown and orange are also the colors we associate with Thanskgiving.  so enjoy that brown roasted turkey and the pumpkin pie.

The Wonder of Brown

All colors are a reflection of nature.  Brown is rich, warm and comforting.  It’s a color that most humanity feels comfortable with, because of its association with earth.  Brown represents honesty and stability.  During times of trouble, we often turn to brown and other earth tones.  Interesting that brown has been a key color in fashion and home decor during this year of financial and poitical upheaval.
